Join an exciting team focused on serving a rural area with the best in mental health services. Our rapidly growing agency is actively looking for a Full-Time Patient Access Representative in our East Grand Forks clinic.

*Part-time or Full-time option available

The Patient Access team will work together to provide direction of services needed, meeting directly with clients and their families and working with an array of financial situations and special requirements. This function involves extensive use of the electronic health record with data entry accuracy. Within the team, Access Specialists will assist in multiple duties, including answering multi-line telephone systems, registrations, insurance verification, referrals, scheduling, and financial counseling to clients and family members.

Each member of the team will assist one another in order for the team to function as a whole. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly, and in a friendly manner, providing an in-depth knowledge of programs, services, and financial information with a wide variety of both internal and external customers.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes clients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answering or referring inquiries.
  • Serves clients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  • Optimizes clients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment by scheduling appointments in person or by telemedicine.
  • Keeps client appointments on schedule by notifying provider of client’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
  • Comforts clients by anticipating clients’ anxieties, answering clients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
  • Ensures availability of treatment and referral information by filing and retrieving client records.
  • Maintains client accounts by completing signatures and screeners, obtaining, recording, and updating personal, insurance and financial information.
  • Assists in the revenue management cycle by recording/updating financial information and collecting client co-pays/service charges.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirement includes a minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D. with similar work experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., and general office equipment
  • Well organized, enthusiastic, energetic and highly motivated
  • Proof of valid driver’s license and current/adequate vehicle insurance coverage
  • Must pass criminal background study through DHS NetStudy 2.0
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable under the agency’s automobile insurance policy
  • Access to a personal vehicle and the ability and willingness to use the vehicle in carrying out position responsibilities, including travel within the service area and to other areas for workshops or as part of job duties
