Attachment and Biobehavioral Catchup

Attachment and Biobehavioral Catchup (ABC) is a 10-session home visiting program for children between 0 and 48 months old that helps parents and caregivers recognize and respond to stress and early challenges.

Benefits of ABC

Parents will learn to:

  • Identify their children’s signals and distress
  • Respond with nurturing and supportive behavior
  • Help your child learn to regulate emotions and behaviors
  • Play in ways that improve child development and long-term outcomes

What to Expect

  • During weekly 1-hour sessions in your home, you play with your child and discuss parenting your child with an ABC provider.
  • The ABC provider reviews video clips with you and makes comments that highlight your strengths as a parent.
  • The 10-week program ends with a celebration and a special gift – a set of video clips of you and your child interacting during the ABC program.
