Homeless Intervention Program

Let’s find a path to health and housing.

Our Homeless Intervention Program (HIP) is designed to help adults and families experiencing serious mental illness and homelessness achieve independence and stability.

We partner with counties, agencies, and landlords in our community to assist people in finding safe and affordable housing. By combining homeless interventions with mental health and substance use services, clients receive the tools and valuable life skills they need to successfully maintain permanent housing.

HIP services include:

  • Outreach and case management
  • Mental health and substance use services
  • Benefit assistance (trained in SOAR for persons seeking SSA benefits)
  • Help with transportation costs for housing and job search
  • Financial aid for expenses related to setting up a new residence

If you are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or need emergency assistance to stay in your home, call 218-281-3940 for eligibility and pre-screening.
