Youth and Family Services

We’re all in for all youth and families.

It’s normal for children and teens to experience all types and degrees of emotions as they grow and mature. If these emotions or challenges get in the way of everyday life, Alluma is here to help.  We offer an array of mental wellbeing and chemical health services designed to support youth and their families from outpatient therapy, school-based services, and substance use treatment.

Counseling and Therapy

Alluma’s therapists provide specialized therapy services for youth and families facing mental and chemical health care challenges. Therapy may focus on anxiety, self-esteem, bullying, substance use, and anger to learning to cope with trauma or depression. Like well-child checkups with your primary care physician, regular check-ins with a therapist can normalize good mental health and promote increased overall wellbeing.

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Our expert psychiatrists and nurse practitioners provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management for children ages 5-18. We treat a wide variety of mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit disorder, trauma, personality disorders, schizophrenia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Evaluations and Psychological Testing

Mental and chemical health evaluations, much like those completed for your physical health, help Alluma providers understand and accurately diagnose clients, then develop an individualized treatment plan. Because these evaluations are “snapshots” in time, it’s common to complete them annually and make necessary adjustments to the treatment plan and goals.

School-Linked Mental Health Services

We make it easier for children to receive mental health services by offering therapy and skills training in the school setting. Alluma therapists collaborate with the family, teachers, and other caregivers to develop treatment plans to identify goals and improve the child’s overall functioning at school and home.

Early Childhood Services

Our trained early childhood therapists assess and treat children under the age of five. By teaming with parents and caregivers, we gain clarity and an increased understanding of the child’s struggles to provide an individualized treatment plan to support the child’s social and emotional development. We offer early childhood services in an outpatient clinic, the home, daycare, school, or other community settings.

Children’s Therapeutic Services and Supports

Children’s therapeutic services and supports (CTSS) is a package of mental health services for children who have mental health concerns that interfere with daily functioning. Skills training and therapy empower your child to self-monitor, cope, and replace their conditioned psychosocial skills with ones that serve them better.

Adolescent Substance Use Treatment Program

Drugs and alcohol can hinder or delay brain development in young adults, so it’s essential we use a different approach to treatment than we do with adults. Our outpatient program is for adolescents ages 10-18 and consists of a combination of individual, group, and family therapy. Counselors may recommend additional services such as medication management, tobacco cessation, or peer support services.

Summer Programs

Alluma’s summer programs help children with a mental health diagnosis maintain a routine in a safe and supportive setting when school is out. Kids practice skills such as problem-solving, healthy expression of emotion, building and maintaining healthy relationships, respecting others and themselves, and setting and achieving goals.

Care Coordination

The Care Coordinators at Alluma provide support and guidance to clients and their families to address all aspects of a person’s health and wellbeing.
